Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
- This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
- All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
- All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
- Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
In addition to the above basic criteria, please note the following:
Manuscript Format
- Typed in Microsoft Word (DOC or DOCX)
- Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1.5 spacing
- Page numbers included
- Title, abstract, keywords, body, references all clearly structured
Abstract and Keywords
- Abstract not exceeding 250 words
- 4 to 6 relevant keywords provided
References
- Formatted in APA 7th edition
- All cited references included in the reference list
- All listed references cited in the text
Figures and Tables
- Clear, labeled, and embedded within the text
- Original or properly cited if reproduced
Supplementary Documents (to be attached in submission email)
- Cover Letter addressed to the Editor-in-Chief
- Signed Copyright Transfer Form
- Declaration of Originality and Ethical Approval (if applicable)
- Conflict of Interest Statement (if any)
Plagiarism Check
- Manuscript has been screened for plagiarism (not more than 15% similarity)
Ethical Compliance (for empirical research)
- Statement of ethics approval for studies involving humans or animals
- Consent for publication, if applicable

1. Copyright Ownership
Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors retain the copyright of their work. However, by submitting to JOHRMS, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to publish, reproduce, archive, and disseminate the work in print and electronic formats. This ensures wide accessibility and scholarly impact.
2. Licensing
All articles published in JOHRMS are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits:
- Use, distribution, reproduction, and adaptation in any medium or format.
- Commercial use, provided the original author and source are properly credited.
- Clear indication of any changes made to the original material.

3. Author Rights
Authors publishing in JOHRMS are free to:
- Share their articles (e.g., post to institutional repositories, personal websites).
- Use their content for teaching, presentations, and derivative research.
- Distribute copies to colleagues or students.
No written permission is required for non-commercial reuse, as long as proper attribution is provided and the reuse complies with the CC BY license.
4. Third-Party Content
If the manuscript contains copyrighted materials (e.g., figures, tables, data, or excerpts from other works), the author must obtain permission from the original copyright holders. JOHRMS is not responsible for copyright infringement caused by the author’s failure to secure rights.
5. Copyright Infringement
JOHRMS takes allegations of copyright violation seriously. If any published content is found to infringe on existing copyrights, the article may be subject to correction, removal, or retraction, and appropriate actions will be taken following the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
6. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes regarding copyright ownership or usage rights shall be handled in accordance with the copyright laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the editorial policies of JOHRMS.
